Default uni or k&n
whats best uni or k&n filter for my wifes recon 250? do they get the same % of horsepower gain or is one better than the other? does anybody know

K&N flows more air, but doesn't filter as well. This topic has been pretty beat. Bottom line for me, I don't trust K&N. I always use Uni's for maximum protection. People will disagree, as there are thousands of people using K&N, but that's just my opinion.

I pesonally choose the foam filters over K&N's for off-road use, I just feel they filter better.

Since we are on the subject and it appears that this thread has the attention of some go-fast guys...
What is the foam filter of choice for the 450R? I was always a K&N guy but am ready to switch to foam for the reasons listed.

I use UNI and Twin Air filters, never had a problem with those and I get good air flow.
