400EX kills Raptor
#1
I was racing flat track this weekend and watched in awe as a 400EX annihilated a raptor over and over again. Sure the 400EX had 440 hopup kit, but still the raptor had a full exhaust + filter + jetkit + spacers. The 400EX out-performed and out-handled the raptor. As pretty as the raptor may be it just has not quite got what it takes to match the 400EX. It is not always about top end, it is about all round performance. The raptor is not as stable as the 400EX on high speed corners, it tends to want to flip. I think that the raptor will still have to prove itself as the ultimate sports ATV. You had to see it to believe it.

Maybe the guy on the Raptor sucked. But i think a 440ex should be putting out somewhere in the 35-39 hp range, i think? I also have heard stories about unbelievable hp gains on the Raptor from pipes and air filter and air box mods, i wonder if this is true. AH who knows, maybe it just wasn't the Raptor riders day!!

I have been telling guys for a while now that the Raptor is sweeeet lookin'.But the 440 is a badassed machine in itself..I'm not taking anything away from the Raptor, but even on the blacktop in a 300' all out drag race the Raptor doesn't have anything for us.U think you were in awe? This summer at the Tour de Forest in Marrienville Pa. so were about 50-60 other riders out of 1700 riding everything from Polaris-Honda-Yamaha-Suzuki when my 440 ate a Raptor 3x in a row in a parking area. Now it was stock and I heard it all from him being inexperienced to drunk to whatever but I guess it wasn't his day either.I'm glad to hear other ex's are experiencing the thrill of the "KILL"...But they still look sweeeet..No bashing intended!!!!
