This question has probably been posted more than anything else but here we go. This is my first post and I do value all of your opinions. I have read all the mag tests and have spoken to friends that own atv's and I just got back from riding a Honda Rancher 400 AT. Nice machine but lacks power and the brakes were horrible. Anyway I talked the wife into letting me finally buy my own and am looking at these three. Honda Rincon, Suzuki KQ and Suzuki Vinson. 90 % of the time will be spent trail riding with some hill climbing. First which do you recommend? I am 6'2 260 lbs. I live in southwestern PA and which ever you recommend I would like to know which dealers around here are giving the best deals. I have seen some advertising for Ohio dealers that deal but nothing for PA dealers. I have been online for the past week and all the information is starting to overload my brain. I will be going out and test riding tomorrow and would like to narrow down so I am not running all over the place to hit every make and model. I would like to narrow down to spend time wisely. It would seem you have already narrowed it down to 3 vehicles...........In my experience if you are going to be doing mostly trail riding you should at least ride a Rubicon, just for comparison if nothing else. Friends with the Rincon machine indicate its lack of a low gear make it almost unusable for the trail and mountain riding we do around here. The need for a low gear is the major issue..............One other machine you might try to see is the Bombardier (I believe the 800??) I understand Brute power, fantastic suspension, and gearing are all found in that machine. One thing for sure to remember is that no matter what you choose you are about to get the thrills of your life......Tass

 

Thanks for the advice everyone. I brought home my new KQ about an hour ago. Couldn't pass up the deal. 6350.00 for 05 leftover. Red with Kimplex front bumper. Will ride this weekend and tell you how much I love it.

 

Personally I would have stayed away from a suzuki and also I think I could have got a better deal than you on an atv of the same year. You should have looked around a bit more before you jumped into it. But if your happy with your choice then good luck with it and have fun with it. I just know from past experiences that suzukis are not on the top of my favorites list.

 

05 Rincons have been going for 6000 or less around here.

 

You got a good deal on a very good quad. The 05 Rincons are deeply discounted to clear them out because of the new 675 EFI. The Rincon might have a bit more of a comfortable ride but I'm sure you'll be very happy with the KQ, I gave it very serious thought and had I been able to get it for the price you got it for, I'd probably have gotten that instead. I just saw an 05 GPS Rincon advertised by a dealer for 5899, thats 2K off MSRP, very unusual in the ATV industry to see that deep of discounting. I've seen guys trying to sell used 04's and 05's for 6K LOL.

 

i wouldnt buy the 650 rincon for a little more you can get a 06 680 rincon with disc brakes and a much better motor

2K isn't exactly a little more, the new motor is the same 650 bored to a 675 and EFI added, definate improvements but not necessarily MUCH better.

Hey GeryRx7, congrats on your new KQ. I am from Mon City and I am just wondering, what dealer did you buy it from? Have fun riding man, break it in the right way though, that can save alot of headaches down the road.
