A new spark plug, and it will most likely start right up.

I have the same problem. I put my 400ex in the garage for a few months(removeing the battery) and went to start it today. Surprise Surprise it wouldn't start. Every-thing sounds good the motor just won't kick. When I put it away for the winter every-thing ran and opperated fine considering i've only had it for 6 months. Any Ideas? besides the spark plug

If there was fuel in the carb bowl when you parked the unit, it has lost its volitility. If an attempt is made to start the unit after that period of setting with the fuel in the bowl, it will foul the spark plug because the fuel will not burn. It will continue to foul spark plugs until enough fresh fuel is replantished in the carb bowl.
Turn off the fuel valve. Drain the carb by opening the fuel drain screw on the bottom side of the float bowl. Add some fresh fuel to the tank, replace the spark plug, turn the fuel valve back on. The ATV should start. If it does start and will not idle, most likely the slow jet circut is plugged. Over time with stale gas in the bowl, It will gell or oxidize and plug the jets.
If your unit will not be run for a while, turn off the fuel and drain the carb. Add some fuel stabilizer to the fuel tank. I prefer Sea Foam. When the unit is to be used again, simply turn the fuel valve back on and start-up should not be a problem.
