Default Another question on climbing dunes?

My grandsons have BRP Outlanders 350's these have auto trans and are liquid cooled which are quite a bit heavier then my 2wd manual shift Honda Rancher. My question is: Should they use 4wd to climb the sand dunes? Since there motors are the same size as mine would it be better for them to climb in 2wd so all the power goes to the rear wheels instead of it being split between the front and back? We will be using our stock tires. Any comments are appreciated.--Mike

id use 4wd that way he has 4 wheels to pull if back are slipping they have front to catch. I climb hills with my 4wd easy but no sand dunes here.
