Hello all,I was wondering if anyone ever attempted to add a bicycle speedometer to their Recon?If so how and does it work well?Thanks.

you can get a good quality bike speedo at Wal*mart or Kmart for a very low price.

You can buy a speedo designed for Recon, but I don't know how much they are or how to install.

Go to branfordbike.com you can buy a Catseye Enduro II bike spedo. You will have to splice the two wire cable to make it long enough to reach the front wheel. I made a small bracket out of aluminum that bolts to the front wheel hub bracket that the sensor can be attached to. Epoxy a strong magnet,(get it from Radio Shack) to the inside of the front wheel that is close enough to the pick up sensor so that it starts to work. You'll have to measure the distance around the middle of your front tire and then enter this into the spedo. I used a cloth tape measure that was in metric to do this, and that's about it. Works great!

I think you can get the same Liquid Crystal Display that the Rancher has for the Recon. I think the dealer told me about $200 or $250. From what I hear, the cables are already there.

Would it mount where that black oval knockout it on the center of the handlebars?Would the wires be located under that oval?Thanks
