Recon Speedometer
#11
I've read in one of the atv magazines on how to install the bike speedo on the atv. I will have to dig thru all my back issues to find it, but it was about the same as you did. The articles says they paid about 25 dollars for the speedo and about 2 hours to install it. I would say that is worth it compared to the 200-250 bucks they want for the one for the Recon. Have fun!

I think you need to talk to your local dealer about those questions. I've never seen one. Someone here mentioned some wires on his recon labeled for speedometer or something like that. When I bought mine, I asked the dealer about it, and he seemed to agree it existed, but suggested I use the recon for a while and see if I really want one. If it is the same, or similar to the rancher's, it would be nice to have the hour-meter function. The Rancher display looks pretty cool at night too. $200 seems pretty overpriced, since on the Rancher I got the display and electric shift for $200 over the non-ES model.
