Yes it is an 05 TRX yeah I replaced the needle I dont know what position I set it at. The directions say what jets to use for what elevations. The elaevation I am at calls for a 185 (i think)

I can recheck if I'm wrong, I had an '05 before I bought my '06, but I'm pretty sure that the '05 HRC kit suggests a 185 main jet. They must be recommending that jet with at least a slip exhaust or modded stock muffler. Sounds like your muffler is totally stock, this will change your jetting drastically. You either need to jet back down on the main or mod your stock muffler. You can probably find a HRC end cap on E-bay or something if you want but don't run without a spark arrestor. As far as the needle, who knows where that's at, was there a suggestion that you went with in the instructions or did you just throw it on a clip position and go with it? How does the thing run when it is running?

yeah wit the HRC kit u should run like a 185-190 depending on the octane i ran a 185 in mine untill i went wit more mods but shoulds like ot me ur runnin extreamly rich,u should try 160ish ur plus should be sliverish grey when ur jettin is right

So is your exhaust stock or is the baffle pulled? put your needle on the 3rd clip(should be real close) pull the baffle out of your stock pipe and I bet it will run better, run a 180 main with the baffle pulled, 3rd clip on the needl and open box and you should be good
