MOREWOOD, Thanks for all the suggestions! I think all I'm going to do is add a pro-flow air filter,DMC exhaust and rejet. DMC's web site say's no need to rejet, but if I let more air in I have to add more fuel. I Think I'll call them. What's everyones thoughts on this? Once I see how it runs maybe then I'll add the HRC. It has too much power now so I dont even know why I'm adding what I am!
DUNEFOOL, here's a link to there web site. It shows a 11% increase in HP just from a slip-on!

MY wife says I have to mow the lawn before I ride. I tell her I'm Bonding with my new 450ERRRRRR

Camo,
The HRC Kit will generate at least double the 11% gain claimed by DMC with just their $329 slip on, and the HRC Kit is cheaper (if you do it yourself). That DMC is a sweet looking piece, though!
The basic idea of an aftermarket silencer is to allow more air flow while still maintaining a workable amount of backpressure. (And now days they are also trying to keep them quiet.)
To really get more hp out of the engine you need to increase the air throughput, and then increase the fuel being added to that air, by larger jetting.
The HRC Kit then takes it a step farther by upgrading the Cam and changing the wiring harness to allow about 1000 more rpm. This gives you better throttle response throughout the rpm range, and increases the top rpm for more acceleration and more top end.
My stock foam filter was OK for the HRC Kit (lid off), but I decided to switch to the Velocity....since I ride mostly in the sand. I think the K&N style air filters allow slightly better air intake. If you ride in the dirt and dust (Missouri?), I would not use a K&N nor Velocity because the properly oiled foam will filter out fine dust particles better.
I did find that I needed to increase my idle just a bit to avoid stalls on some landings. My friend without the Kit noticed the same thing.
The 06 does like to be choked when it is cold, and it likes the choke left on longer than most quads. In fact, if you forget and leave the choke on....it will not complain until the engine gets hot. Then it run like crap.
Have fun!
