Anyone carry a pistol or long gun while riding an ATV? I carry for self defense from humans and animals. I know i probally wont need it but I feel much safer with firearm than without.

I always carry while riding. Especially as a parent and husband, you have an obligation to protect your family and any other innocent persons.

Once I rode into a staging area, and a bunch of gangbanger looking Mexican skinheads were beginning to break into a truck. I had passed the guys from the truck just a couple of minutes earlier out on the trail. Obviously the skinheads watched them leave, then figured it was safe to break-in becasue the guys wouldn't be back any time soon. But, I came along and spoiled their little party! It would be pretty stupid of me if at a time like that, I had nothing to fill my hand with except my water bottle...........

Fortunately, there are now lots of light, compact, yet powerfull handguns available these days.

 

We bring them for fun but never ridden with one.

 

i carry every ride, full frame .45 concealed, have almost needed it 3 times since carrying last year, its more for animal issues then human, makes me and the guyz i ride with feel safe, they allways want me to carry when we ride

 

You guys have me thinking we need to carry.Do things really happen out there with people I've ridden 20 years and never once ran into someone unfriendly.

 

 

usually only if they ride rms, or crs lol , i carry a colt per ban AR15

 

It's like tire repair equipment. You carry it and hope you never need it! But if you need it and you don't have it........

 

i carry a ruger gp100 .357 mag. with 4in barrel, since i dont have my ccw yet i carry in a shoulder rig open carry and since i live less than 40 miles from the mexican border we have issues with smugglers and illegals, some of the trails i ride take me near the border sometimes. its always better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have.

 

hell yeah we carry guns while riding! cant wait till a bear tries to attack me so i can blow it away. j/p id rather avoid the bear.
