Default Aftermarket ignitions. Are they worth it??

I have a 2001 250ex and i was looking into getting a new ignition for it. I don't know of many companies that make ignitions for the 250ex but i looked at a big gun rev box. I already have a white bros e-series exhaust and powerfilter and recently got a jet kit and i plan to remove the airbox lid. What i am wondering is that on the big gun website they claim the rev box adds 3 horsepower. To me, this seems like a big number for just a 250. It also says that it raises the rev limit 750rpms higher. Is this to high for this engine? Will i wreck my motor? If anyone else has one, does it add much power? Is it worth the money? Thanks for any replies.
