Default hmf vs yoshimura vs lrd 400ex pipes

once again I have a z, but the rev box I put on made a bigger difference than the pipe. I got a big gun with the advanced timing curve.

alright so the rev limiter is probably my best bet right now for limited money. i was looking at the white brothers rev box because its only like 60 bucks but ill take a look at the big gun one as well. Is the rev box visible?? like will people notice it if my wheeler is just sitting there or does it look stock ? just wondering because my freind has a stock ex that he says is faster than mine but i havnt raced him yet because i dont have mine yet so i was hoping this wouldnt be noticble and i could race him and hopeully win thanks for the help and sorry for all the ?'s

thanks again

alex

You should do a search or start a new thread about 400ex rev boxes to get opinions on those from ex owners. I know I'm happy with mine on a z. Mine advances the ignition timing as well as raising the rev limiter by 1200 rpms. Yes it will look stock, unless someone takes a close look at your cdi and sees a big gun logo.

oh well, let them wine. Technology changes, so you might not get the most up to date info anyway.

thank you very much for the reply. do you know how loud the hmf would be? or the lrd for that fact? the only exhausts ive heard on a 400ex were a t4 slip on , a sparks full system and a yoshimura full system so i know how loud they are but i was wondering about the lrd and hmf. ive heard the hmf's were insanely loud. what ever i get will be a full system for sure though. thanks alot
alex

I had a T4 slip on and went with Yoshimura complete pipe. It is quieter.

I have a DMC fter bourner exaust on my quad and it has great usable power. I read that it gives a 16% torque gain and 15.6% horspower gain.
