I'm just curious what everybody thinks. I've been reading a lot in here about people saying that Honda will use the new liquid cooled XR650 motor in a new sport quad. What about reverse? I'm not saying that I want/need reverse, but the Raptor has it & I'd think that Honda would want it. The XR doesn't have it. I imagine to put reverse in that motor would require more than new cases & a new transmission? I'm not looking for an argument to have reverse or not, but opinions on how Honda would resolve this.

If they put an electric starter on the xr400 engine, they should be able to put a reverse on the xr650 engine.

the honda fatcat doesnt have reverse and my 86'200SX uses the same engine as the fatcat... the ATC200M and S do not have reverse but the Big red does, again same engine with minor left side trans cace modifactions.

I don't think that the streetbike yamaha took the motor for the raptor out of had reverse...

If yamaha did it, I'm sure honda can

You're all correct, they can physically do it. But as a buisness, they want to make money. I'm wondering if they will feel that the costs of creating this motor will be justifiable with their accountants?

i've been reading all these posts about the new quads people say honda is releasing... most to practically all of them are probably BS. but the idea of the 650EX is actually very logical, the 400 is a nice all around quad and Honda would hit the spot if they made a second version with reverse and then a 650EX bike.. as for if they release them? just hope and see what the future brings
