Default Running to hot?

My DMC exhuast on my 450r is starting to turn blue in color, and also, while i was riding around yesterday, it started to burn my jeans when i was leaning around the corners. i believe that my pants touched the head pipe. I was just wondering if that means my quad is running to hott?

yeah, i'm up to a 140 main jet, the kit said i should be running a 128. the plug looks good. the only thing i don't like is that the quad pops when i get goin full speed and let off the gas.

Hondaman440ex, sounds like your still way lean. I took your advice and got me an DMC exhaust for my 450R.
It's a great exhaust! Looks good and sounds even better. Mine was running way lean before I rejetted. Mine is running it's best with the airbox lid cut out to match the HRC one. I added a PRO-Flow air filter with outwear. The main jet is a 170 with the pilot jet 48. I also install an adjustable Fuel screw. It makes it a breeze to be able to just reach down and make a slight adjustment
If I remember right the main jet for the HRC kit is a 180 or 190.
Are you using keihin jets or Dyno jets. Remember the same size number jet for keihin is not the same size as the Dyno kit. In other words a 170 keihin is not the same as a 170 Dyno.

After I dailed mine in the other day I hit second gear and the next thing I knew was I was looking up at the blue sky with my a$$ dragging on the ground. I just let her go and she went back down on all fours with no problem but the tip of my tail bone is black and blue and hurts pretty much all day and night! Oh well live and learn. Your still lean.

I'm running the Dyno Jets. I can also adjust the needle. and i am at the biggest jet the kit came with. so which way should i move the needle to make it run richer. and do you think if i move the needle, and keep the 140 it will be way to rich?

Moving it up leans it, down makes it richer. Check this out from DMC's web site

Are you runing the HRC needle? The stock needle on the 06's are not adjustable. So I ordered the needle from the CRF 450 dirt bike which our motor is designed from. I'm pretty sure this is what the HRC needle is. I've got mine set on the 3rd clip and after doing the fine tuning with the fuel screw it purrs really smooth and when you hit the gas it takes of like a rocket and pulls your arms out of the shoulder sockets!!!
