Hello..I just bought a TRX200 (1984) and it worked pretty good for a couple of rides..now Im having some problems with the shift. Cant get it into neutral. It will run in low gear. Im going to work on the exterior linkage (left foot pedal) tommorrow. I had this same problem a couple of weeks ago..and then I managed to get it cleared up (by just shifting hard)..then it started acting up again just recently.
Just wondering if this is a typical problem. Also..how hard is it to get parts for a transmission or to get a transmission rebuilt. Are parts available? tnx earl

 

My 84 has a similair problem, although hard shifting still takes care of it. As far as parts, all parts are availble from honda, though expensive, I have found that if you look on ebay you can find quite a few parts this model. Just keep looking and you will run across pretty much everything for it.

Yes..Ive read where ebay is a good resource..and Im glad that parts are still avail. I'm curious if your transmission/shift linkage ect..is all original or has there ever been work done on it?
My tires are cracked somewhat ..and Im looking to replace them in the near future. Any tips on where I might get a bargain and/or ..perhaps a wider tire size for increased grip and stability. Im interested in comparing notes with others who might have this machine. My other ATV is an ARGO 6 wheel drive (1995 model). Cheers..
