What i'm wondering is, if the 400ex fires every rev, then wouldnt the 300ex do the same?

not sure...all i know is the 4 stroke tach reads fine on the following machines:
91' XR250R
94' XR400R
95' XR600R
86' 200SX
85' 200ES big red (with the cam cdi)
