Do anyone of you know if clicking valves would be covered under warranty? I have only had my fourwheeler for about 2 months. I was wondering if checking and adjusting the valves would be under warranty or would a honda shop charge me to do the adjustment. Thanks in advance,

I do not think they will cover that. I bought a manual and did it myself. It is very easy.

Valve adjustment isn't that hard, if you are concerned a quick visit to the dealer should be worth the few $$'s. They may cover it with the first check-up. It would be worth it. In Feb. my father in law and I were in the Salton Sea area in California, and he pulled the knurled end off his intake valve. No other damage to the piston or anything like that, but had to do the repairs ourselves. Honda did cover the cost of the valve, but wouldn't reimburse anything for the labor. In checking with some dealers some played dumb to the problem, but at least one admitted Honda had some problems with valves and bad ends. My 450-s a 98 model is in excess of 13000 miles, and with a valve adjustment every year there has been no valve problems.

Go forth and ride!!

Clicking valves is not a problem, it just means that they are out of adjustment. Pick up a shop manual or take it to a dealer.

Cycle Shack North here in Conroe charged me for the valve adjustment. Not sure how much, but it was almost nothing. It's real easy if you have the tools. Screw that, I'll do it myself.

DanimalFL, buy a service manual from www.helminc.com and do the work yourself. It is cheaper and since I have never done any mechanical work I find it to be fun.
