hey everyone, just searchin around for honda odyssey stuff and stumbled across this site... wanted to pop in and introduce myself...
names Justin and im 23 and live in Parker, Colorado
just got (2 weeks ago) a 1979 Honda Odyssey FL250 in pretty good shape. Everything is 100% there, it just needs to be cleaned up and restored.
well, being the type of person that i am, i cant just leave anything well enough alone, so last week I went and scored an 89 Polaris Indy Sport 550 snowmobile with a great running motor for $30!!!!
so hopefully the FL250 is soon to become the FL550 suicide machine!
anyone familiar with the belt drive setups on these machine? (the odys or the snowmobiles)
the belt on the snowmobile is way larger then the belt on the ody, but they all seem to work the exact same way... anyway, i was wondering if anyone knew how easy it was going to be to swap out the clutch assy. on the 2 motors so i dont have to modify the ody too much.
any info would be great.
thanks

oh, it will be fun... i would definately prefer to not kill myself, but if it s fun enough, i may not care. lol!
just gotta figure out the drive systems and get the crabs tuned properly on the snowmobile engine... one is tuned perfectly and the is running smooth and the plug looks great. the other one is WAY too fat so i need to check the jetting and make the needed adjustments. i also discovered that the spring on the drive clutch is set up for 9000-12000 feet, which i guess works for my advantage in this case as it is a softer spring to allow easier engagement - since at altitude you have less power so it would need to engage easier).
anyone know how to get the carbs set right and synched properly. i can deal with a single carb and get them running mostly right, but there is more power to be had if the carbs are exactly synched and perfect and working on these simple mikuni and keihin carbs, i dont know how to get them tuned and synched like i do on the more advanced street bike carbs with that rely more on vacume (those are easy to synch)
any input would be greatly appreciated.

ok, so found out the the motor is a 440cc motor - officially.
finally got pictures of the ody and the motor so i will try and get those uploaded soon too.
anyway, got a board for colorado odyssey and pilot owners, or just owners anywhere with odysseys or pilots specificly.

check it out.
