Default Gas pouring out of carb

I ahve an 87 Trx 125/fourtrax that I am trying to get running, it has three nipples on the side of the carb, one for the line straight of the gas tank but what about the other two, my buddy said just run a hose connecting them together, now gas comes out the front of the carb, are these supposes to just leak some gas????????????? Help I don't get it!!! Thanks Shane

If they are on the side of the carb, they are probably float bowl vents. They need to vent to the atmosphere and should not be connected together if there is more than one. If you are leaking fuel out of the venturi, your float valve may be bad and not shutting off the flow of fuel into the float bowl.

there is probably 2 vents and one overflow tube. The overflow is usually mounted in the float bowl part, and the vents are part of the carb body itself. Just routing the vent tubes together would not work, they need to be vented to the atmosphere for the carb to to work right.
