Here is what I do to any new quad, in the order I do it as my finances allow: Nerf bars (a must!), full chassis and swingarm skid plates, bumper, tires and rims, handlebars, steering damper, shocks and maybe a-arms. (In sharp turns at low speed, it will wheelbarrow a little bit. I'm running Maxxis iRazr's on ITP rims. The tires are wider than stock and the rims are wider and have a greater offset. This makes the quad a few inches wider than stock, and cures those problems. (I think the real "problem" may be the stock tires????))
Do the suspension first, before you mess with the engine! All the power in the world isn't worth anything if you don't have the suspension to handle it (although stock suspension is pretty good on this machine)! Mild mods to the engine: Header and muffler, and HRC kit.

You need to uncork it at a minimium. I added a proflow intake with the K % N filter and a DMC slip on exhaust. I up the main jet from a 120 to a 170 and from the stock pilot 138 to 142 and replaced the nonadjustable needle with the needle from the crf 450 carb. Start with the 3rd clip. It's given me all the power this old man can handle. I cant imagen what the HRC kit will do, but this sure is a big jump from stock.

The ITP rims have a greater offset than stock, and the rears are wider as well. The tires are also wider than stock in the rear.
All this combines to make it about +3" in the rear and +2" in front. A nice little bit of added stability (without the expense of a-arms or an axle), yet not so wide that the quad can't be ridden on a tight trail.
I am going to write a rider review of the iRazr tires. Watch for it in the tire section.......
