I just bought an 86 TRX 250 R. I have not had a bike sense i was a kid, but have always love this bike. Anyway just a few questions ?
Sand tires ? I will not be drag racing, just playing in the dunes. Is Haulers and mohawks worht the extra money ? WHat about sandstars ?
Also the reserve coolent tank is empty (under the rear fenders) do i fill it up there or take the front fenders and fill it there ? and what would you recomend i use ?
OIL ? I tried to check the oil but It is just a cap. How do i know how much to put in or how full it is ? Once again what kind of oil do you think i should use ?
And finally when i mix i know its 20/1 but what should i use? (what kind of fuel and mix)
Thanks for any help.
cheers

i use Maxium 929 race oil but thats just me or Amsoil ... i also u need to go up on your ratio you will foul plugs all day long and ur bike will smoke like Heck go 40:1 or 50:1 somewhere between that and you will notice a great difference in the bike it will run alot better any kind of good synthetic oil! also i would go up one heat range on your spark plug also that will help to.... as for filling the case with oil there should be a check screw on the same side as where u put the screw in the bike i think its eaither a filips or a 10mm screw something like that but anyways take that out and put oil in your bike until it comes out of the screw then put the screw back in and crank the bike up and let it run for a couple of minuites then shut it off and check the screw once again b/c that will give you the best reading and i think you should be set! Oh and for tires i would go with sandshark IMO well hope this helps!
