Rubicon Light Switch
#2
Hi Sporter,
I just installed a factory switch to turn off and on the center light. It took about 2 hours because you have to take off the front cap. Hooking up the switch was easy....Just find the right plug and unplug it and plug up the new switch in line. It allows me to turn off or on the center light while the head lights are on. I ordered mine from Abernathy's in Union City. It cost about 48.00 freight included. They mailed it to me when it came in a couple of days later.
It looks a lot harder than it really turned out to be. You have to take off the front cap because the plug you have to plug into is right under the center headlight under the 4x4 decal. The drawings in the instructions are not the clearest I've seen but with a little common since you should be able to figure it out. I did with the help of my neighbor. The front cap comes off in one big piece. Even the bumper and front rack all stay together with the front cap.
I hope this helps......Mayorstt

Hi Sporter,
Yes it is a Honda product. I first saw it in the Red Rider magazine. The plugs on the switch fit just like it was from the factory....No Splicing...... The water proof switch mounts in the blank spot opposite the ignition switch on the left side....hope this helps

Grumpy....I'm looking for my sales reciept. maybe the part # is on it. Call Charles at Abernathy's. He knew what I was looking for. At first he wasn't sure it would fit the rubicon because the pic said it was for the 400 Forman but it fit my Ruby just like it was made for it.

I've tried the parts number on my local dealer. They can't find it. Looks like Abernathy's may be my only hope.
