quicksilver-I think you are way off about the Rancher! The transverse mounted pushrod engines are one of the best features of Honda utility quads (and the 250EX). Honda wouldn't ever dump these excellent design features! The transverse engine makes it unnecessary to change the direction the power rotation (more efficient), and the low cam/pushrod engine keeps the weight low in the chassis. And where ever did you get the idea that anyone was suggesting putting this engine in a 400EX frame?????

Honda could do with the Rancher what they did with the Recon/250EX. Just strip off the racks and lighten it up in absolutely every way possible, put sportier plastic on it, better suspension, and they have an easy competitor for the Wolverine. A switch to the 400AT engine would be a nice change as well, but keep a manual transmission.

Yes, it has been a while. I am taking several weeks off this summer to wind down and make plans for future projects while the ones unfinished sit outside and collect dust. LOL
I really do not look for anything on a bigbore sport quad. I havent heard anything on that front in quite a while. That could be good news OR bad news.
The decline in ATV sales has actually been expected for about 2 years now. The market is only so big for sales of new or used machines. And the steady rise of unit sales since 1996 has absolutely flooded the market with used ATVs.

How's it going. Just like everything else with Honda this year....things are quite. I havent heard of anything regarding the Rancher series.

 

NOT in 2007 only change is the colors.... Maybe 08 there will be some change... 07's are alredy finalized and no real changed, just a powercoated frame and a white color... no performance changes atall ./.... I wanna see an EFI honda
