Default very stupid question

In the world of Honda utilities, the recon is the little brother with the smallest (250cc) engine. The next step up is the Rancher, which comes in a few flavors, 350-400cc. The Foreman is next largest in the lineup and also comes in a few different engine/tranny configurations depending on which version it is. Fourtrax is a broader term which covers multiple models. BTW, the largest ute they sell is the Rincon.

Some pictures: http://powersports.honda.com/atvs/ Keep in mind that there was an older body style, which changed a couple of years ago.

One thing didn't get mentioned: Recon is 2wd only. Rancher and Foreman 500 are available in either 2wd or 4wd.

I thouht I read somewhere that in Canada, Honda doesn't use the names Rancher or Recon for their atvs. Canada also has the Rubicon Trail Edition which is not available in the U.S. There are other atvs that Canada had in the past that never were available in the States.

Yes, you haven't seen them because Honda of Canada doesn't use the names, just the model number designations.

The Recon would be a TRX250 te/tm, the rancher lineup would be the TRX350 FE/FM/TE/TM and TRX400 FA/FG

The entire canadian lineup is called the fourtrax lineup, and that is honda's name for it's four wheeled atvs.

Default very stupid question

what maddog said is right? I guess it's just different marketing. The names Foreman,Rubicon, and rincon are very popular but for the most part the others are simply referred to as the 250, 350, and 400. It does become a little unclear when people are talking about the 400 because alot of people still have the 400 foreman which is still more common than the 400at.
