Default One more spark question

Many thanks to those who have helped so far.

I was working on it again tonight and got spark, but only on the first pull. Not a fat blue spark either, orange. After the first pull there was no spark. After sitting a few seconds and pulling again it would do the same thing, spark only on the first pull. Any suggestions or possible diagnosis?

Nevermind, im thinking your running the sparkplug wire with the plug in it, and checking spark that way. I was thinking you might a new plug wire.

Yeah, I'm checking it with the plug in and grounded against the head. I can tear down and rebuild a 2 stroke anyday, but the electrical part gets me. I'm not even sure where to start here. I guess I'll check the coil ground and connections on both ends of the plug wire first.

I would think it has to be the plug wire, spark plug, or a bad coil. Plug wires and plugs are cheap to replace, but i think coils are the spendy part (around 50 bucksi think). Good luck!
