Busted Rubicon Frames!!??

I was at a large honda dealer the other day and i was talking to the guy who owned it and i asked him why there were no rubicons there. He said they were all recalled because the frames were breaking. Has anyone had this problem in the United States. He said it will be atleast another 2 months before they come to Canada. The price up here is $9600.00 + Tax. Anyways cant wait to ride one!!!

I think he is pulling your chain I never heard of frame troubles or anything eles with the Rubicon. Sadly he is not joking about the price though but I do not think they will sell very well unless they lower the price. A Sportsman H.O is $1100 less and a A.C and Suzuki 500 sells for $8000+ tax up here. Just wait and the will have to lower the price to a reasonable level. In the States the Rubicon sells close to the same price of the rest of the 500 utilities on the market, so it can be done here .Just don't be in a hurry to be a there first sucker to buy one at $9600+,you can buy a lot of insurance, gas and accessories for that much of a price differance.

Well I think that, that dealer is just yanking your chain as someone else said. There has been no recall and we can't get them in Canada because of supply and demand. If you remember earlier posting of letters from Honda they said the Rubicon would be in limited production for the first production year. I have heard of very few problems with the Rubicon.
The dealer may have gotten confused with the Rancher.
In Thunder Bay, Ont. I was quoted a price of $9000.00cdn for a Rubicon.....The same price as the HO.

A local honda dealer informed me that they had problems with the Rubicon frames. It seemed quality control was not up to the honda standard and there was missing welds on the frame during manufacturing. I believe the ruby is assembled in S. Carolina. The motor and tranny come over from Japan to be installed in the finished unit in the states. In another unrelated story, I was informed that more atv's are sold within a 200-250 mile radius of Toronto than anywhere else in North America. For the life of me I can't understand why the ruby was released in the states first.

I'm not an expert, and I'm not calling anyone a liar....but this is what it sounds like to me.
The Honda Rancher, not Rubicon, had a series of units that got out with bad welds on the front end. I'm not sure of the exact location. They do have a recall on the Rancher, with certain serial numbers. They are supposed to send letters to all owners of these serial numbers.
Maybe the dealer just got bad info, or confused the two. It just seems like to much of a coincidence to me. I could be wrong, but my money is on the Rancher being the one the dealer is talking about.
