I didn't get a chance last night. It's hard to fit wrench time in with a one year old. Hopefully I'll get to it tonight or over the weekend. In the meantime I'm trying to find somewhere online that tells the steps and whether these are adjusted with a nut, shims or what.

I appreciate it, thanks. You'll probably hear from me this weekend.

I'll jump in and add a possible problem. It is a semi auto right? it doesn't have a clutch ( I'm not sure on that model). If it is semi auto it probably has a neutral safety wire. Won't let it start in gear. Most of the time if this is the case it won't spark but anyway if it is a non clutch model the safety wire is probably under or behind the foot brake area connected to the engine if not look for two wires hooked to two prongs on the engine somewhere. The way I remember you can just wire these together and it will then start in gear, then it will tow start. Had this happen to an 86 big red. I don't remember it sparking at all but you never know. A way to tell might be put in gear and then pull it. See if the spark changes. Mine was completely dead when it happened, nothing but a loose wire. Hope this helps.

By the way if the wires are loose it won't start at all. Even in neutral.

I'll try that too. It is a semi-auto. I know the safety switch is plugged in right now, but the light doesn't come on. I'll jump the 2 wires, that would be great if it were that simple. Thanks for the suggestion.

If anything jump the wires and then tow it again with the truck. It wouldn't have started with the wires plugged in. Good luck.

Ok, so what I thought was the neutral safety switch is the reverse switch, and it only has one wire with a nut. I have the plastic all off and I couldn't see another switch anywhere. Even on the parts fiche none is listed. There has to be one somewhere because there is a neutral light.

There should be two prongs coming out of the engine case on the right side with wires hooked to them. Probably a cover or guard of some type covering them. Mine were at the brake pedal level but recessed back on the side of the engine, not on the underside but close. They will be hard to see with the cover on. Of course they may look a little different on that model. Check the neutral light bulb, if it is good but won't come on and the battery is good then this might be your problem.
