250ex size of shock
There's some kits that fit up 400 shocks to a 250. I would find the banshee thing believable, considering all the other swaps I've heard of. (Still got my eye out for an '01 raptor rear shock...) If you want to do more work later, I'm trying to get some 400ex A-arms and shocks for my 300ex, and my brother and his 250 might inherit my 300 arms and shocks. I'll let you know what I have to do to make them fit up. I'm positive that a dealer would be able to tell you length. If not you could always use a tape measure... Then walk into a yamaha dealer and use your tape measure there too... By the way, I'm feelin' ya here. I rode that bike pretty hard for a year, and now I dont think I'm going to have any heirs to my kingdom. That thing is stiff.

So. Good story. Our plans are to acquire parts and then have a dual bike project festival, wherein both bikes will be completely disassembled and beefed up. I expect to have to cut and reweld mounts and pivots and all that stuff. I WILL NOT be making any money for parts if I give the shocks to my bro, so I'd honestly rather sell them to a worthy soul like you. Especially since I take such good care of my bike you can't even tell my shocks have been used. I just thought I'd clarify my definition of "fit up". Definitly not what you'd consider bolt-on.

I'm not a good person to ask. I 'specialize' in fabricating small motorized vehicles from scratch, so frame modifications are like light tinkerings to me. Honda already did 90% of the work for me. My guess is you'd have to move two A-arm mounts, and upper shock mounts. Equates to an afternoon of work.
