Default Winch For My Recon

I have a 2005 RECON ES 250TE I am wanting to get a winch for it. I went riding Tuesday. I didn't happen to get stuck, but I coulda used it twice to get other people un stuck or pulled up hills. Woulda made it a bit easier.

I was planning on getting this winch http://www.cpeauto.com/de2000lb_winch.htm , but I dunno were I am going to get a kit to mount it because the stuff that comes with it will not mount to the 4 wheeler.

Anyone know a good winch and kit for it?

some of the other posts about a winch for the recon warned that the weight up front might impact handling. given this, i ended up paying $60 for a black max hand winch from rocky mountain atv that i just keep hooked onto the back rack.

I don't think the weight will affect your handeling to much if any at all. As far as a winch look at the Warn 2500 you can't go wrong

Mainboard,
What kinda winch is it? Also were did you get your mounting kit from? I am lookin at a few spots, but all are pretty expensive. I just don't wanna get the wrong mounting kit for the winch I was thinking about getting and be screwed out of a couple $100. As hard as the front suspension is I don't see it being alot of effect to it with a winch either. If anything I could upgrade my springs and or shocks. If I absolutly had to. I love the handling on the front the rear shock maybe wouldn't hurt to be a tad softer the front takes bumps well my rear kinda bounces sometimes. I've went trail riding 2 weekends so far really fun. Plan on going again this sunday to a riding park. with alot of mud and I wanted to be able to have a winch to pull myself or others out if needed.

check out the venom winch, check ebay for em. I got a 2500 lb winch for under 150 w/ mounting bracket shipped. I've pulled many larger atvs out with it so far. It is a 'cheap' winch compared to the cost of the big names, it has not failed me yet.

Well I am mainly conserned about the mounting bracket. At our local Sams Club they have a Champion 2000lb ATV winch with 48ft of cable the hook of course the guide things so it doesn't scratch the paint and like a 6 foot cabled remote control. for $87 I am just concerned wether any mounting bracket will work for it or if there is only certain mounting brackets for certain winches because it does have an L shaped bracket to mount the winch and roller guide thing just doesn't have anything to mount to the frame itself

...........My winch was only a 1500 superwinch but i found that was all i needed it pulled my bike out no problem.. the thing i had it mounted on a big bush gaurd witch was almost 200$..but im sure if you went on too ebay or somthin you could find one...or build one..just take a piece of flat metal and drill hols in in and mount it right to the rack..
