300ex Chain Replacement
Hey guys, just bought a '96 300ex from a friend and I need to replace the chain and sprockets. As soon as I bought it I ordered the Clymer manual for it, and it says that I have to remove the swingarm to replace the chain. Is there any way around that? The axle bearings were replaced recently (don't know why the chain and sprockets weren't done at the same time) so I hate to tear into all that since the bearings are new. Thanks for your help.

Some places will sell you a chain of the proper length (if you are using the stock size sprockets), then you just put it on and connect it with a master link. Or, you can get one that is to long, and cut it to the proper length with a chain breaker if you need something other than the stock length. (It's always good to have a chain breaker in your tool box!)
I think Rocky Mountain sells sets of sprockets and chains, for specific quads (????).
