I was wondering is a 450r good 4 tight woods trail riding, some moto cross, and some sand. I have been doing a lot of research on the 450r and the z400. I cant decied. I want the honda because im a honda guy, also because its fast, and i want the z400 because its cheaper, little less maintenence, and so ive heard " best all-around sport quad. Any help is appreciated.

I have a 400ex and an 04 450r. I use to say that if I could only have one, it would be the Suzuki/Kawasaki 400. But that was before I rode a Raptor 700.
I ride tight trails and sand dunes. There is a race thrown in here and there, also.

For tight trails i think the 450r is a little tall geared and requires using the clutch alot. Even the 06 450rs are tall geared to me and they supposedly dropped a tooth on the front sprocket. One of my buddies has an 06 and he dropped from a 13 tooth on his front sprocket to a 12 tooth and it helped his alot, but overall for trail riding i would probably still go with the z400.
