I have a new 2001 300EX and I was wondering if it is okay to remove the spark arrestor. I will be putting on a pipe in the future but for right now I was wondering if this was okay. Any info would be much appreciated.

I can't tell a real difference in performance but it does sound better. I have lots of friends who have had theirs out for a long time with no damage if thats what you are worried about.

Thanks for the reply. I was basically looking for a slight change in tone with no damage. I guess I found my answer.

Default Spark Arrestor on 300EX

Yes it's perfectly ok, almost everyone does it. When you do sell it to me for $10. I need one to put in my daughters ATV. I'm trying to make hers back to stock.
