Default 400ex vs raptor 660

i dont know how anyone thinks z400s...etc. are so fast. my buddy is a bigger guy with a piped 400ex and he was losing pretty bad to a z400. but i got on his 400ex and me and the z400 were dead even till 5th gear. the z had a little bit more top speed and this was on blacktop so there was no wheelspin or traction issues. z400s arent all that much faster or more powerful than a 400ex. and i dont know how a 660r would have a hard time outrunnin a z..

How could you think the raptor is dissapointing in stock form?? ACctually i never rode my raptor without the pipe and jetted so im not sure, But when i got my raptor before the air filter and stuff it would power wheelie in every gear, dissapointing??? what r u on!
Now that i got a good air setup i can tell it opened up a bit, but nothing huge.

Whatever man. Get on a 600cc crotch rocket and you'll realize how de-tuned the Raptor is. And if you've never been on a stocker, then where are you talking from?

I didn't read it right. sorry I thought you said the 400ex couldn't keep up. well any way usaully an engine 260cc bigger wins the race. I have rode many different wheeler makes and thats why i like HONDA because they're engines have so much more pep and power than other makes.

wheelers with bigger engines have bigger tranny gears so once you top out whoever has the bigger tranny and or more gears is going to win in the long run.

I have a 1986 200x and I beat a 2000 500 suzuki vinson. The vinson has 4 or 5 automaic gears. while the 86 200x has 6 standard gears.vinson tops out at 62 while the 86 200x tops out at 65. My 85 200x beat a 350 rancher. I would just assume the raptor with it 's bigger tranny and 260 cc bigger engine would win. hope this helps
