My brothers '88 250x knocks at idle... it goes away if you increase the engine speed. This machine has very low hours for it's age, and he just recently bought it back from the person he sold it to years ago. He change oil but is still doing it. Could it just need the valve lash adjusted??? Is there a cam chain tensioner that could be doing it??? Thanks, Dan.
