300ex paddle tire sugestions
#1
I have a 1993 300ex, Stock except for larger head pipe and air filter. I am takin it out to silver lake next weekend and was wonderin what brand and size of paddle tire I should get. Currently I am looking into ITP sand stars + wheels but I dont know if i should get the 8 inch or 9 inch rim. Any suggestion, including any mods I might want, THANKS

Keep it light! I find that the new generation of molded sand tires are heavy, and for some reason they are narrow (maybe in an attempt to keep the weight down???).
I stick with the good old very light buffed down Skat-Trak's. Edges (V-shaped paddles) if you want to maneuver a lot, or Haulers (straight paddles) if all you want to do is drag race, mounted on some light and wide ITP T-9 rims. The little 300 will pull 6 paddles.

we use the maxxis 4-snows (or pro-wedges) on them and they pull fine and get incredible traction in the sand. plus the ride is way smoother (and handling) than a paddle tire. you'd be surpised of how well many people that run the prowedge, 4-snows do in a drag also.
