Default What is the correct premix ratio to run with 110 octane?

I just recently rebulit my 86 250R, it is bored .80 over, and has a 21cc cool dome head by Paul Turner. I had been running 93 octane previously but a local shop told me i needed to run 75% 110 and 25% 93 to keep from having detonation. My question is what ratio do i need to mix the oil at, i had been doing 50:1? And was just curious as to whether or not the ratio would change or not. Thanks

Well, it depends on what oil your using and what your machine is jetted for. I'd say you would still run 50:1, maybe try 40:1 to be a little safer. If it fouls a plug, go back to 50:1.

If 50 to 1 worked before it should be okay. Espeically if the oil is synthetic, I've never heard of the brand you are using. The higher octane should make it run cooler, so you wouldn't need exta oil to cool the cylinder.
