Leaking rear shock

Leaking rear shock
The rear shock on my daughters 06 250EX is leaking........the dealers has ordered a new one and its covered under the warrenty.
My question is is this a problem the 250EX has had or is it something i shouldnt think about.
Its not run to hard...no jumps just a lot of trail riding.
