Actually a modern 125 turns out "way less" torque than a typical 400EX... Typical 125 peak torque is around 15 ft/lbs where a 400EX is typically around 22 ft/lbs. A 400EX also produces "peak" torque over a much more broad range of RPMs than a 125....

The reason a 125 will outrun a 400EX in the straight line is simply the hp/weight ratio...

Also the HP and torque numbers for even a brand new 83 CR125 are far different than those of a modern CR125...

The scrambler 400 can beat a 400ex in a drag, whats the point of putting a CR125 against it if the scrambler would give it a better run for it's octane.

LONG LIVE POLARIS!!!

Depends on the dyno run you look at.... I've seen quite a few and they typically average about 27...

Typical 125's run about 30.

I was going to address your ignorant comment, but decided against it, as it's only purpose was to illicit a response....

Good day, Scrambler troll.

Last time I checked a 400EX put out roughly 27 HP and a '00 YZ 125 (I know its not a CR) put out 37'38 HP. So yea, CR would win.

No way, 37-38hp??? That must be at the crank or something because that sounds way too high. I thought the 250s from the factory only put out about 45hp, and that's with double the cubes!! The EX puts out 32hp at the crank, and 27hp of it gets to the rear wheels. Here's a dyno run of a bone-stock '99 RM125, that can't be too different than the YZ and CR, can it?
