Default adjusting valve clearance

I have a 06 honda foreman es 4x4 with about 16-17 hrs. on it
I have been told buy the honda dealer that I should have the valve clearance adjusted.
I did notice today riding it that there was a slight ticking in the engine.
is it hard to adjust the valves I would like to do as much work on my own bike as I can.

Thanks for your input

Rich

Default adjusting valve clearance

adjusting the valves isnt hard to do, but without the proper knowledge, you could potentially do some damage. If you are mechanically inclined, buy a service manual for your machine. It will walk you through step by step how to adjust the valve clearances. You could also do a search for valve adjustments, several threads have the procedure posted in them, as long as you know what spec's yours is supposed to be at.
