Wait Till You Read This

I've heard some people doubting the reliability of Hondas lately and thought I'd throw in my two sense as to how reliable they are. I have a 1984 ATC 200ES "Big Red" that I've kept up in N.S. since 1986. The ATC is used for about two months out of the year during the summer (it's ridden a good deal every day though) and then sits in a less then sealed tight barn on a small island. For the winter it gets subjected to the wind, snow, and salt air that come from being near an ocean. Now the next part isn't the best thing to brag about but anyway: When I leave for the winter all I do is put it away. Since 1986 the ATC hasn't had a single bit of maintenece done to it, it hasn't had the carb drained, the oil changed, the gas tank cleaned, or the plug changed. Each year when I come back all it takes is one pull to get it going and then just charge the battery up. I don't know of many other machines out there that can run for almost 15 straight years without having anything done to them. I'm planning on doing maintenece on it from now on now that I've seen how important it is to do the maintence but I guess you can see why I'd probably never buy anything but Honda.
