I attempted to change the front brake shoes on my buddies 450 foreman...i just could not get the air out of the lines after bleeding for almost an hour then i couldn't get the hubs back on the new shoes...back to the shop it went, man what a pain in the a$$!!!!

Hmmmm. When I changed my shoes on the Foreman it took no more than 10 minutes per side. Not sure why you needed to bleed them to change the shoes. Just turn the adjustment wheels all the way in to put on the drums.

thats what I was thinking when reading this also the shoes should come right off then you put the new ones on and adjust them with the adjuster...the only reason I could think that you bled them is because someone said to or there was a broken line and needed a new one but anyhow just to make sure so future reference make sure if you don't already know pump the brake lever then hold it in and then have some1 open the valve and let the air/fluid out and for the front open the valve on the closest line first.

sorry ...there was more to this story...my buddy pulled the brake lever with the shoes off causing the piston inside of the cylinder to fall out losing all the fluid!!!Thats the method i used to bleed them as you said but it took a long time.
