Going to a K&N will not do much for power. Nothing that you should notice anyway. A uni flows just as good. Just do a plug check and if it is black or brown your fine. If its white go up 1 size at a time.

you will not notice much of a different no, but your are increasing air flow and more air flow = MORE POWER, so yes u are gaining power i dont know were 2manytoys head is but i would start out goin to a 155 main jet then working my way back down till your plug is paper bag brown. Also if u go half throttle let off and you hear poping then that means your running to lean jet up. A lil lean wont hert a anything Leaner = Meaner to an extent

K&N typically adds 1/2 to 1 horsepower. It sometimes can be noticed.

Yes you are right it will add power BUT he already has a uni and rejetted for that. The K&N will not make that much of a difference over the uni. If he had a stock filter then yes I would say he will notice and he will need to rejet up more but he already has a performance filter and is going with a difference performance filter that flows a little more than the uni. His jetting is fine now thats why I said go up 1 size then check plug color. Yes he can go to a larger main and work back but he is already pretty close.

Also, you dont need to rejet for a K&N filter.

yea you do because you are messing with the air fuel mixture since you are increasing more airflow to the engine you will be running lean and you will need to richen out the mixture but as 2 many said he already has a performance filter so about once size up or more should work fine.

K&N Does not require a new jet. I have one, and alot of others have one. I didnt have to rejet. K&N states in the instructions, you more than likley will not have to rejet.

Thats your instructions, when i first bought my yfz right away i got a Fat Boy 4 pipe the instrucktions read that i was supose to go to a 175 main jet i but that jet in and with in 15 yards down the road i knew i was WAY to rich. I beleive i went with the stock jet and just drilled it out so it was a lil bigger and i was running just a bit on the lean side witch i always run LEANER THE MEANER. In your case adding a K&N u do need to jet up i have seen many among many people that say "well the instructions said i prolly wouldnt have to" with a K&N and cutting holes in the air box lid or just leaving it off and then they either burn a hole in the piston or they burn a valve. Now im not tring to get on your bad side in anyway nor am i am expert but i have seen this second handed.
