06 foreman 500 es
#1
i was looking at buying one and have some questions on some of the features like on the electric shift, does the included foot shifter in the tool kit really work like a real foot shifter or is it something cheap to get you out of trouble and home. and has anyone had any problems with the electric shift going bad or anything. Also i tried to find out what the protection plan would cost but couldnt just wondering if anybody purchased this with theirs. it sounds like a good deal, even though its a honda and supposed to be reliable i own a polaris now and like the thought of not having to pay for everything going wrong like in my polaris. And the description says it has a powerful 326w AC generator. does this really work. what can it power. thanks.

i got the 05 but its no differnt than 06. the foot shifter is a cheapy luckly i aint had to use it yet but if i do im going to probably lean down and shift it by hand since its so short. like i said i ain had any problems yet on mine but i like the es cuz its so easy to shift.we got the protection plan for 3 years and im thinking it cost 300 dollars but i could be wrong. the power generator is like a power point in any truck where you can plug in things like car chargers for cell phones and so on.

this site says the 2006 foreman es has a Powerful, 326W AC generator, and a Waterproof accessory socket provides 12-volt, 10-amp power with a built-in temperature-type fuse. which sounds more like its for car chargers, the 326 w ac generator sounded more liek an inverter to me. but ive never seen one, ive only read it and am just wondering.the new rancher has a more Powerful 343-watt AC generator.

I read it. Funny, Honda does not offer it. It is not a Honda site. They are wrong. It does not have a generator.
Thats a feature that is on the new 07 Rancher only. And they won't be available till around December most likely.

Yep, it does say that. I still think its wrong. I have never heard it mentioned before. Never mentioned in a magazine test. Never seen one.
Tell your local dealer to show you one.

has a magazine tested the one on the rancher, if so would u happen to know off hand, i dont really need it but i just want to know what it is. it dosnt reallymatter enough to go look at it the my local dealer, i wouldnt buy one from there and it not really a feature that would get me to not buy it, due to theres a dealer about 70 miles away taht wants almost $1100 of off the msrp.thanks again for all your help.

As far as the 2007 Rancher 420 is concerned I don't believe they have ever been tested. I really don't think there is a Honda Rancher 350 or AT at a dealer right now that has an actual generator on it. A 12 volt DC outlet yes, generator no. Highly doubt there is a Foreman out yet that has one on it either. I think you are confused. I might be wrong though.
