Hello HM, I just got done repairing a top end on a 86 TRX350 fourtrax. I had the quad running great and all of a sudden it just quit. I can not tell if the fuel pump is coming on or not. Can you send me a copy of the wiring diagram and a theory of operation for the fuel pump? Thanks. yotatrailrunner@hotmail.com

 

I emailed you a couple of sections .. When you turn on the key/ignition , then touch the electric starter button for a second , you should hear the fuel pump rattle for a few seconds (or feel it rattle if you touch it ) ...

The relay is inside the little box (with 4 phillips screws) located beside the right rear wheel ..

Thanks, Looks like I have other problems, If I unhook the hoses to the fuel pump the fuel pump runs, as soon as I attach the hose to the carb it quits. guess it is supposed to work like that. Tried to jump the relay and that did not change anything. Im starting to think the float is stuck closed or somethingin there. You have any ideas?

 

That sounds like you have carb trouble ...
