The T1500 provides the most line pull per dollar available from ATV winches (actually, the T1500 uses the same motor and geartrain found in the ATV2000; however, the T1500 has only 25 feet of wire rope spooled instead of the 50 feet on the ATV2000, and no internal spring brake standard like the ATV2000). In tests of winches in current production (not previous models), the T1500 pulled 2400 # stall after 9 hours operation fully submerged in mud and water.

If you get a T1500, read and follow instructions in your manual (e.g., always spool under tension), and whatever winch you buy, get a ****** block (doubles extraction force, permits angle pulls).

Answering your question, a T1500 appears to be a good investment; so is money spent on a Superwinch ATV2000, X1, or X2; so is money spent on Warn or Rule winch models. Check the features and buy the one you want, they are all quality products backed by reputable manufacturers.

Trxrecon, the only thing you will run into is that there have been some failures with the switches. I personally have not had any trouble but that is the rumor. One thing you can do is call superwinch after you by it and get them to send you a replacement switch (tell them yours is not fuctioning correctly) also ask them to send you the orange dust cover if your winch did not include one. It will help in weatherproofing the switch.

TRXRECON, are you counseling DeadEye to call up Superwinch and LIE about equipment failure?

I think this act is know as "wire fraud."

Amazing!

Customers are terribly upset when they believe their suppliers haven't been entirely truthful; yet, honesty, for you at least, seems to be a one-way street.

I believe the long-term advantage rests in truthfulness to the manufacturer; now I know why sometimes they insist on exchange of faulty components.

Superwinch, incidentally, has an excellent customer service department.

Dio- I was not saying he should lie....I'm just saying given the record of the superwinch switches to be prepared for the future so he is not sitting without a winch for two weeks waiting on some $.50 part to get to him.
As for the dust cover it should come with the winch but is often not included.

No, You were telling him to lie. Maybe you should run for president, our current one also has problems knowing what a lie is and what the truth is.

My superwinch works fine. I also carry a 15 foot tow rope so the 25 foot of cable in the winch isnt really a problem, plus its easier/quicker to respool 25 feet then 50 feet of cable. The switch does seem a bit bulky and not very protected but if you call the service dept at Superwinch and explain to them that you have read several accounts of the standard switch failing and that they are offering replacments and you would like one before yours leaves you stuck in the mud somewhere I am sure that they would help you out. There would be no fraud or lying involved with that approach either:-)
I highly recommend a roller fairlead, I am getting one as soon as all my christmas shopping is done.
