Default How do I determine right rims and tires...HELP!

My wife and I have told them you WILL be involved in something. Right now its football. Even though my younger one eats, sleeps and breathes football my older one is already losing interest. He asked not to play next season and we told him fine, but find something else and it cant be called XBOX.

I dont care if they take up dance. I just know the dangers of kids with too much idle time. I just turned 30, so I almost remember what its like to be a kid.

I hope this will allow us to always have at least SOMETHING in common even when they become teenagers and too cool to hang out with Dad.

Glad things worked out with your son. Its obvious he has a Dad that truly cares.

Thanks for saying that. This is the 2nd time I have seen someone say this. I think I will hold off on paddles for the 90, and just persue some for 450.

I found this deal from a local paper here in Phoenix. I am thinking they are used. What do you think of the price....

4 tires front back with rims
sand sharks and razors
with I t p rims
250 for all
or 100 for the back ones

Don't get sand sharks for your 450, I don't care if they're free.

A few questions need to be answered before a good choice of sand tire can be made

1. Do you think that you might want to add some power to the quad in the future?
2. How much can you spend for sand tires for the 450?
3. Do you have other friends that ride and that you may race at the dunes or are you just riding with the kid?

The only thing I see adding to the quad is an exhaust. Atleast for a while.

Money isnt a big factor. I only go a couple times a year to the dunes so I dont want to spend a fortune on something I wont use very often.

I dont really race much. I may race my brother just for fun a couple times, but thats it. Not enough to factor it into my decision.

What is wrong with Sand Sharks? I see a lot of them out there.

Thanks for the reply man!

Sounds like you would do fine with something like an ITP sand star. You need a 4/110 bolt pattern for the rear. I would recommend a 9 or 10 inch wheel for a guy like you. I believe the tire sizes on those are 21x11x10 or 21x11x9 would work well. Sand sharks provide limited traction for a bike like yours and traction is a big part of the fun isn't it? My top recommendation if you can do it would be a Skat Trak Extreme Hauler but the price for the tires is usually almost double a Sand Star. Just use your stock tires on the front.

Thanks for the heads up. I would have thought Sand Sharks were good based on the number of people who have them.

I will look into those you suggested.
