The LTZ 250 is a good choice, but again depending on how aggressively you ride you will grow out of the LTZ in no time. The only reason why I'm saying this is, is that my son started out on a CFR 150 two years ago when he was 12. In less than 6 months he was already wanting more power so he moved up to a YZ 125. Now at 14, he will take off on my bike because he is craving more power. He constantly rides my YZF 426.

When you purchase your quad, buy it according to the way you ride. If your a timid rider the 250's an excellent quad to start with. If your an aggressive rider and if you are always trying to improve your riding skills then a larger cc quad would be better to start out with. Only you can know what is best for you.

I also have a 11 year old daughter who is a timid rider. We just got her a 2007 TRX250EX. Every time we go out riding she is becoming more confident and less timid. She loves her new quad. It is a great machine and the way she rides she may never need a new quad again.

also another in buying a quad is to know what ur getting and expecting. when i got my blaster , I knew it had no reverse. but keys on it were.

2 stroke
6 -speed
price
weight

am i expected to go faster than its mid fifety's top speed nope.

do i like being the under dog. in a way yes. but with almost all the people i will be riding with driving 700 lb quads. i will be the hapiest. so understand ur expectations. those 250 in the class are slower than my blaster. but all and all easier to mateain

Kmak i think anything Honda would be good. they are a good relible bike. If you want a 250 you should test drive a few and see if you like it. If you want more power go with something bigger. If i was buying a 2 stoke if would have to new because you would never know what its been threw and how long before it blows up. I know a fella that just bought a used blaster and it blew up the 2nd day he had it. The bike was in good cond. too. Id say go with honda.

go for a rappy350 it looks nicer than a 300ex (light on handlebar, i hate it) and isnt as powerful as a 400ex

I was exactly you, so I'll just tell you my life story. Bought a 250ex at 15, knew it was too slow, sold it to my little bro a year later. Bought a 300, nice power, I was happy and proably should still be. However, I need a tad more, so I'm desperately trying to sell it for super cheap so I can get a 400 and do stuff to it. My advice? start on a 300, see if you're comfortable/need more, then move to a 400, etc.
