Really!!! Just another strike against a new technology entry, they will take care of this soon, but right now it must be a issue. I have transported 4-wheelers thousands of miles sometimes in gear, sometimes not, and absolutly no problems. Perhaps Yamaha has the answer with a PARK position. HUH, HUH?

I have had several atv's over the years and have always transported them in neutral with the parking brake set. I have never known anyone I have riden with to transport their atv in gear. My dealer also recommends to transport in neutral to alleviate stress on the tranny.

I can't argue with you since I have never owned a Honda and mabey this applies to Hondas only. On the other hand, HondaLuvr303 response to my question just above here, says that the Honda Recons owner manual recommends to transport it in gear!!!

I have always transported my big bears's in gear with the parking brake on . Never a problem. Hate to think of what is going on with the Rubicon while it is running down the trail. Hopefully it won't leave you stranded way out.

Just a quick point, on quads with auto, or centrifical clutches, it wouldn't really matter if it was in gear or not. These machines act as though they are in nuetral when they are in gear and the engine is not running. The clutch only connects the motor to the transmission, when the motor reachs a certian rpm. There is no reason to transport this type of quad in gear, but it shouldn't hurt it if you did. Again this only aplies to manual shift, auto clutched machines, like all Honda utilitys exept the Ruby.

my 200SX, Big red, 125M all hook up when in gear with the auto cluch, if you want to keep it from rolling forwared kill it in reverse... never a prob here, I usally stick my quads in gear when loading the trailer full of wood to assist the parking break. Once the wing nut fell off the brake arm on my old ATC125 and I had to shift to N and kill the engine then slam it in fist while rolling at 30MPH to slow down-Now thats HARD abuse, but never a problem with any honda tranny here

I've always figured...If the tranny can't take the stress of me stopping and starting in the back of my truck, I sure as h*** don't want to ride it anywhere! When was the last time anyone had 1ST gear go out??...LOL
