Has anyone heard bad things about these shocks? I haven't. I am planning on buying new front shocks, and was curious what everyone thought of my choices, and how they compare with each other.

1. TCS
2. PEP Standards
3. Works T.R. Steelers

I would love TCS fronts, but I'm not yet sure if I can afford them at this time. I probably could if someplace still sells them for $650. Do they? HONESTLY, what would you guys do if you were in my position? Go ahead and get Works, spend more and get the middle-priced PEP, or go ahead and get the TCS even if I have to wait a little bit? Your help is greatly appreciated.

P.S.- If I get the TCS setup for +2 a-arms, can I loosen the springs on them until I get the a-arms? I don't have enough money to get the shocks and a-arms at the same time, and I don't want to have to send the shocks back later to get them revalved.

Thanks.

Hey wcy2k400, Where is spot in the road Kentucky?

I have TCS on my 400EX that are set for +2 a-arms and I am running stock length, they feel great to me, alittle stiff, but I have the compression backed out. You can't change the spring rate on the shocks, but you could back the compression out alittle, not the answer, but better than nothing. The only adjustments on the shocks are sag (small spring) and compression.

I have bought a lot of things for my 400 and do what I didn't, if you want something, spend the money and get what you want and you will be happy.

I am running a stock shock and was going to have TCS redo it. Instead, I am going to bite the bullet and buy a custom axis, since they are the best.

I have a set of PEP triple rates also, and they are much softer, but they both feel great. I haven't raced with the PEP's yet, but so far like them both.

Buy the way, TCS raised their price to $750 about 5 months ago, so if you can find them for $650, buy them. You won't find a price like that anymore unless you buy them used.

Good luck

Thanks Adams44. I live in Providence, in Western KY. I just didn't put my real town, and it's actually a good sized city.

Anyway, thanks for your help. Are you planning on buying extended a-arms? If so, what kind? Do the ZPS shocks jump differently?

I am ordering shocks this afternoon, and I was trying to make a final decision on them. I have looked at Works Triple Rate Steeler fronts, PEP Standard Race fronts, and TCS standard travel/finish fronts. Which would you all suggest, and why? Please help as soon as possible if at all possible. Thanks.

I'm sorry if I'm annoying any of you, but this is a big decision, and I need a little advice. So, can anyone lend a hand?

Well, you are in luck. I just ordered my TCS shocks 2 weeks ago. They were 750 for the standard travel and chrome bodies. I got them from Nac's. The long travel or whatever they are called are if you have an aftermarket frame. I would go with the TCS over the other 2. For one the TCS is zero-preload which helps in cornering and it just plain makes the quad look awesome. I got mine valved for +2 A-arms, but I am ordering the A-arms next week. Good luck with the shocks.

Blaster13,

How much were they for standard travel and standard finish? I believe $650, but I'm not sure. I like the PEP and TCS, but I decided that the TCS would be better because they are ZPS, and have adjustable compression. The PEP Standards have neither of these. For no different than they are in price, the TCS look like a great deal.

Someone who has ordered TCS shocks, preferably from Nacs. Please help. What questions do they ask you when you order the shocks? Thanks.
