how to correctly Shift ESP
Bonjour Guys,
Again a question from a "rookie".
Just bought a TRX 350 4x4 year 2000 with ESP.
I would like to know the "correct" way to shift it.Do I have to let go the throttle before each shift or can I "powershift" (with the throttle 50 % or more)the ES???
Also, same question but on the downshift???
Merci
Plume

the correct method, according to my owners manual, is to let off the gas when shifting, up or down.
In an emergency situation, however (like in deep water over the exhaust, have to keep on gas to keep the engine running), the system is designed to be able to shift under moderate throttle opening. But, as stated before, it is VERY hard on your clutch and transmission components. I have done it once or twice, but it doesnt feel like it does it any good.
on downshifting, probably better just to let off the gas too, but if you're downshifting you're probably slowing down anyway so you're probably not on the gas....I wouldnt try downshifting on the gas, you'll likely over-rev the engine or tear the clutch or tranny up.
